6 Awesome Foodie Delights on the Mornington Peninsula
Certain areas of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula have become very well-known for their amazing food (think Red Hill and Main Ridge for proper foodies, Sorrento for a bit of glam and Portsea for the ridiculously pretty beer garden).
It would be too hard to list just one, so here are my faves –
The Epicurean, Red Hill
Gorgeous space for small or large groups, delicious food and a fabulous provedore style shop with scrumptious produce from the region. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. http://www.theepicurean.com.au/

Itali.co, Sorrento
Located right on the shores of stunning Port Phillip Bay, Itali.co is hands down, my favourite spot for gorgeous Italian food and next-level service. Breakfast and dinner! The staff at Itali.co are second to none (especially David) and you’ll often see the likes of Lindsay Fox picking up his coffee with a spritely ‘buongiorno’ for the team in the morning. http://www.italicosorrento.com/

Green Olive, Red Hill
This one is such a lovely place to visit, just to see the space. A beautiful barn style shed which has been designed for sustainability and amazing food. Sit amongst the veg gardens while enjoying the delicious local food, or take in a cooking class while you’re there. It really is a gorgeous spot that is worthy of the short drive inland. https://www.greenolive.com.au

Portsea Hotel, Portsea
I know, of course I was going to say the famous Portsea Pub, but it really is worth a visit. It’s recently had a big reno and is looking absolutely stunning. The menu is pretty average if you’re vegetarian, but the scenery makes me forgive them (since the chips are amazing). https://portseahotel.com.au

Sorrento Hotel, Sorrento
As pretty as it is iconic. Owned by a local family for many years, you can’t beat a meal at sunset overlooking the beautiful and picturesque Port Phillip Bay (with a glass of Rosé in hand). A definite favourite of mine with its sandstone walls and beachy feel. I love watching the ferries go by and the ships go back and forth along the shipping channel on their way to the Port of Melbourne. https://hotelsorrento.com.au

The Rasoi, Sorrento
Love a good curry? This newish (circa 2016) Indian restaurant is simply the best (cue Tina Turner). An amazing selection of delicious food for every taste. My 72-year-old mum loves a good Butter Chicken, my man loves a hot and spicy Chicken Madras and our daughter loves the Malai Kofta. As for me, there’s so many options I can hardly choose. But if I absolutely have to pick one, it would be Dal Makhani.

So there you have it! There are many more but those are my absolute favourites. I hope you can enjoy them as much as I do if you get a chance to go and explore the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
Big love,
